Who Is the Church?
We are a group of people striving to please God to the best of our abilities. We aren’t perfect, but we serve One who is. We seek to do God’s will, as defined in His word, the Bible. The name Church of Christ is not used as a denominational title, but rather a description, literally a group of believers who belong to Christ (Eph. 4:4, Col. 1:18).
What Do We Believe?
We believe in God’s word. We have no creed, manual, or rules other than that which God has already given. We seek to follow the pattern of life and worship that His people followed under direction of the Apostles, which was then laid down for us in scripture.
What is Our Message?
Our message is Christ and Him crucified (1 Cor. 2:2). Christ gave up the rights and privileges of deity for our sakes (Phil. 2), and laid down his life so that we might have forgiveness, redemption, and salvation (Heb. 5:7-9). “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead” (Acts 17:30-31).
How Are We Organized?
We have no religious board or national headquarters. We have no international governing organization. Each congregation is independent and autonomous, governed by elders in each place (1 Tim. 3,5). The only tie that binds congregations together is a common belief in God’s word and unifying love for Christ.
How Do We Worship?
We worship as the believers in the New Testament were instructed by the Apostles and prophets. When you attend one of our services, you can expect a capella singing (Eph. 5:19), prayers (Acts 2:42), preaching and teachings (Acts 20:7), giving and charity (1 Cor. 16:1-2), and communing with one another over the Lord’s Supper (1 Cor. 11:23-24).
